Update

Fieldwork, fleets and Universe Firsts

Better planetary landings and harvesting, more missions, new fleet encounters, Universe First records, and clearer controls on desktop and mobile.

Recent improvements and the upcoming update bring together player-reported fixes and new reasons to explore, build and fly together.

New

  • More assignments. Free pilots can hold 10 active missions; Vanguard members can hold 20. 50 new mission stories expand the existing story and progression paths.
  • Kiln Warden. A new encounter raises the challenge above the Hollow King for coordinated heavy-ship groups.
  • The Moon Eater. A Tellurion-scale threat joins the frontier. This is a major fleet encounter, intended for a substantial group of advanced ships rather than a solo capital hull.
  • Universe Firsts. First skill-master achievements and supported boss victories receive permanent records and announcements. Records can be browsed in the game's rankings and on the public rankings page.
  • Clan sigils. Clan identity uses a colored holographic emblem rather than overriding a ship's livery, preserving the distinction between clan affiliation and earned liveries.
  • News in-game. Read published updates from the select-pilot screen without leaving the game.

Improvements

  • Spaceport landings. Ships that settled on an elevated landing pad but never completed docking now recognize that touchdown correctly. Landing beside an obstacle remains protected.
  • Planetary harvesting. The collector's availability follows the server's landing state more consistently. Auger effects and harvest output are accounted for correctly, with clearer results for equipped harvesting ships.
  • Quarrier furnace. Refine ore directly from the hold while in space. The furnace trades lower recovery for convenience, using battery power and a per-ship cooldown. Station refineries remain the better recovery option.
  • Dismantler. Industry pilots can recover a limited portion of refined materials from eligible spare parts at stations. Scarce and protected items are excluded, and material losses prevent recycling loops.
  • Excavation Doctrine Array. An Epic Leadership 60 module provides a fleet mining-yield bonus. The strongest matching doctrine applies rather than stacking identical broadcasts.
  • Rift salvage time. Cleared pockets remain open for three minutes, giving the party time to collect loot before returning. Pilots can choose to leave earlier.

Fixes

These changes follow reports and suggestions from pilots across the frontier. Thank you for helping make XETODUS clearer and more dependable.

  • Auto-mining recovery. Passive lock loss no longer permanently interrupts mining, and unrelated inspection does not stop the active mining order. Intentional stops provide clearer feedback.
  • Independent inspection. Inspect pilots, places and other objects without replacing your firing or mining target. Tactical Favorites remain available alongside search and category filters.
  • Flotilla deliveries. Cutters without haulers can deliver nonempty partial loads after an extended collection period, including offline progression.
  • Retainer refunds. Dismissal waits for settlement, refreshes the online wallet and prevents duplicate refunds. Concurrent first-muster checks enforce the intended contract limit.
  • Encounter travel. Event warps use encounter coordinates with terrain and atmosphere clearance, and convoy markers follow their haulers.
  • Docked mobile chat. Chat is reachable from mobile navigation and a hangar shortcut while docked.
  • Target window. More compact presentation, accessible close and reopen controls, and desktop resizing make target information easier to manage without unlocking the target.
  • Desktop Stop. A small Stop button beside the throttle cancels flight input and navigation. Mobile keeps its existing Stop control.
  • Mobile Market. Compact listings and collapsible refinements leave more room to browse. Search and filters are retained when returning from item details.
  • Combat effects. Swarm Pod effects have safeguards against the reported full-screen white flash. This is a rendering correction, not a medical-safety certification.
  • Hollow Crown map color. Orange distinguishes its territory from Vanta red at a glance.
  • Moon extraction. Survey, landing and rig-placement controls give clearer next steps and remain reachable on narrower displays.
  • Insurance information. Purchase and claim screens explain NPC-loss checks and excess more clearly. Claims remain available after respawning; cover has not been changed into unrestricted reimbursement.
