One market, clan ads and cloaking
Buy any listing in the galaxy and have it delivered, recruit with clan holograms, vanish with the Lightfold Cloak, and fly with new music, combat alerts, colored levels and a better ore furnace.
Every pilot listing in the galaxy is now one purchase away from your station, clan recruiting holograms light up the hangars, and the Lightfold Cloak lets you vanish from other pilots and from NPCs. New music, a new set of combat alerts, colored pilot levels, a much better ore furnace on the mining ships and heavy bosses that can be beaten round it out. Thank you for the reports behind the fixes.
New
Market
- One market. The Market has an All markets tab that lists every pilot listing in the galaxy with its delivered price to your station (your home station when you are in space), the route and the delivery time, cheapest first. Buy one and the courier brings it to you, wherever the seller is. The courier is much cheaper for everyone, and Vanguard pilots ship for free.
- Galaxy buy orders. Turn on Delivered from any market when you place a buy order and any seller in the galaxy can fill it. You pay exactly your bid, the seller pays the courier out of it, and sellers see what they will receive before they confirm.
- Sell from any hangar. Sell or list a stack from the hangar it sits in. The courier moves it first, and it sells or lists when it arrives.
- Ship home. Goods left at a station by a canceled or expired listing get a Ship home button in the Cargo finder.
- Trade post counters. A trade post now shows the pilot listings of its system, cheaper ones ahead of the shelf, with a Pilots tab for all of them. Buy in person with no courier, or have the goods delivered.
Clan recruiting ads
- Recruiting holograms. Clan officers can run premade recruiting holograms with the clan's tag, insignia and name in station hangars, at a trade post, across a region or everywhere. Pick one of fourteen designs, add up to three activity tags and a time zone, and preview it before you start.
- Click to zoom. Hover a hologram in your hangar and it lights up. Click or tap it and the camera glides in while a recruiting card opens beside it, with Join, Apply and Message. Close the card and the camera returns to where you were. Tab and Enter work too, and two fingers pinch the hangar zoom. In space, the trade post's ad opens the same card floating over the flight view, without blocking your stick or your guns.
- Ads in space and colonies. Recruiting ads now also stand beside station approaches, on jump gate rings, at trade posts and at colonies of Township size and up. Colony owners can switch ads on for their colony and earn a share of what clans pay.
Cloaking
- Lightfold Cloak. A mid-slot module that bends light around your ship. Other pilots lose you from Tactical, the minimap and the brackets, leaving only a faint outline that can still be clicked and targeted, and NPCs lose track of you too. It needs Engineering and drains a lot of battery, firing a weapon breaks it, and it takes an hour or more to be ready again. Rarer versions last longer, up to a minute. The basic one is sold at military garrison stores, and the rarer ones turn up as loot.
- Parallax Sweep. The counter to the cloak. Its pulse shows cloaked ships in range to your side for a few seconds without breaking their cloak, and the swept pilot gets a warning. It comes in three tiers that need Engineering 25 to 55.
Music
- New soundtrack. Two new combat tracks take turns from fight to fight, world and raid bosses get two tracks of their own, warps and gate jumps have new travel music, and two new tracks join the space background rotation.
Combat
- Combat alerts. A new set of twelve alert sounds in three tiers (critical, warning and info) in one musical key, so a big hit no longer stacks clashing tones. Jams, low and empty Battery, being under attack, a destroyed target and shields coming back each have their own cue, and critical alerts are never dropped.
- Pilot level colors. Other pilots' levels are tinted by how they compare to yours: green when lower, yellow when close, orange to red when higher. You see it on space brackets, the target card, Tactical rows, the pilot card, the rank profile and the race finder. Turn it off in Settings › Interface › Color levels by difference.
- Arrival alerts. Jump into a system where a world boss, a Hollow Crown raid, a Crown stronghold's final stage or a Crown Strike is under way and you get one notice with a way to fly there, and the threat shows at once in Tactical and on the minimap.
- Loot flies you there. Loot all, and Loot on a wreck that is out of range, fly your ship to it with the usual Approach and loot when you arrive. The stick, Stop, another command or a warp cancels it, and the target card shows an Approaching chip with Cancel. Protected wrecks are not flown to.
Improvements
- Smoother reconnects. If your connection drops for a moment, your ship now stays where it was and keeps its orders while you reconnect, and nothing around you pops out and back in.
- Reinforce a wing. A Retainer wing that lost ships has a new + button that hires replacements into the empty slots, at the usual price, while you are docked at a Retainer Hall in its system.
- New Hunting charges. Hollow Shards and Pretender's Cryptocores now craft three new combat charges: a strong shield charge, a damage overcharge and a damage brace.
- Hunter paints and lights. Top hunters can spend Hollow Shards, Pretender's Cryptocores and credits at the Bounty Office on two new paints, Hollowglass (a blue void camo) and Cryptogilt (polished gold), and on two new Trophy Hall lights.
- Ore furnace. The furnace built into the Quarrier, Winze, Stonecutter and Mattock is now worth using. It keeps up with your mining lasers, refines up to 500 batches at once and barely touches your battery, and refined metal takes far less hold space than ore, so you make fewer trips home. A station still refines a little more, and at high Refining the furnace comes within a few percent. The panel shows both yields side by side.
- Planets on laptops. Flying over and landing on planets is smoother on laptops with integrated graphics, because the surface map tiles now load quietly in the background.
Fixes
- Supply lines. Carrying Charge, step 3 of Supply lines, can now be accepted at any dock. Quests that named a station that no longer exists are repaired when your quests load.
- Colony demolish. The Clear tiles confirm was see-through on some window glass settings. It is now solid in every mode, fits on phones, and says nothing is refunded and it can't be undone.
- Database. Clicking along the left side of a Database page could share an item into chat. That no longer happens.
- Boss loot to cargo. Claiming boss loot to your cargo updates your hold at once, and a hold that is too full says so before the rest is shipped to the station.
- Turrets and shields. Turrets now visibly aim at what they are shooting, and missiles and torpedoes burst at the hull instead of looking like they fly through a ship's shield.
Balance
- Rarer is always better. A rarer module is now clearly stronger than a more common one of the same size. Dozens of modules were improved, including the Crown-Forged line, the rarer hold extensions, weapons and mining lasers. Nothing was weakened.
- Heavy bosses. The Kiln Warden now stays 25 minutes and the Moon Eater 40, enough for a small group to win. Heavy bosses appear only when enough pilots are flying outside Secure space (4 for the Kiln Warden, 16 for the Moon Eater); otherwise a standard boss comes instead.
- Last stand. When a boss's time runs out while you are still fighting it, it now stays up to 10 more minutes so you can finish it, as long as it is below 30 percent health. Before, it had to be below 10 percent. Attacking the pylons or bells that shield some bosses counts as fighting it.
