Update

Heronry, a cleaner HUD and travel from the Database

The Heronry escort tender joins the fleet, a declutter switch keeps big fights readable, Strike wings get their own window, the Database can fly you to any place it lists, and refining all your ore takes one click.

The Heronry, a tier 4 escort tender, brings strike fighters to pilots well before the big carriers, and fighter wings now stay with their carrier while the Bodkin Lance finally fires. A new declutter switch keeps the space HUD readable in big fights, the Strike wings have a window of their own, the Database can fly you to any place it lists, and Refine all ore does the whole hangar in one click. World boss tasks have left the Bounty Office, and anyone who paid for one is refunded automatically. Thank you for the reports behind every fix.

Ships

  • Heronry. A tier 4 escort Fighter Tender, the first fighter tender below tier 5. It carries a strike wing of twelve fighters, six out at once, over three medium turrets, and screens a heavier line against small craft. It needs Leadership 40 and Gunnery 40.

Fighters

  • Strike wings window. Strike wings now have their own window that you can move, minimize and park anywhere, and it remembers its spot. The orders are icon buttons (launch, recall, guard, assist and attack) with their names in tooltips, each wing shows its craft and a state icon, and the rules sit behind the ? in the header.
  • Fighters in load presets. On a tender with a Fighter Bay, a launcher load preset can now hold each wing's fighter craft, and loading the preset loads the craft too. Older presets load as before.

HUD

  • HUD declutter. A new button in the Tactical header, or Alt+C, steps the space brackets and nav markers through All, Combat and Minimal. Combat shows hostiles, pilots, your target, your wings and fleet, and loot, without asteroids, stations or nav markers. Minimal shows only your target, your locks and whatever is attacking you. Your choice follows your settings to every device.
  • Opened wrecks. A wreck that someone has already taken loot from, with loot still inside, now shows an Opened mark in Tactical and on its bracket. Tactical lists untouched wrecks first, then opened ones, then empty ones.

Database

  • Travel from the Database. Every place on a Database system page (stations, the trade post, worlds with resources and belts) ends with a Travel button that plots the route and flies you there: it lands on a world, warps to a belt or takes the gate route to another system.
  • Where it's found. Ore and surface resource pages, and the Resource guide, list the nearest six belts or worlds where you can find them, each with a Travel button.

Bounties

  • World bosses leave the Bounty Office. World boss tasks are no longer handed out, and Crownbreaker Contracts are gone from the Bounty Office. If you paid a world boss task's 1,000,000 credit contract fee, it is back in your wallet, and Bounty Points spent on Crownbreaker Contracts are back too, automatically. World bosses themselves are unchanged.

Liveries

  • Faction story paints glow. Warden's Watch now has signal-blue light running aft along its spine and chevrons, and Closing Ledger's cream chevrons glow in slow time, so all three faction story paints glow like Iron Reckoning. Paints you already own update by themselves.

Improvements

The Refinery tab with a switch on each ore row, a Hangar yield column showing what each stack gives, and the Refine selected button.
Pick the ores you want, or refine them all in one click.
  • Refine all ore. Refine all ore now refines every stack at once, without a confirmation step, and tells you what you got. The ore table has a Hangar yield column with what each stack gives at your current refining yield, and a switch on each row: pick some ores and choose Refine selected to refine only those.
  • Production summary. The Industry Jobs tab opens with a folding In production strip: how many units of each item are on the way and when the next one finishes. On phones it starts folded.
  • Ship to… from the Hangar. Right-click a stack or a selection in a station hangar and choose Ship to… to open a courier with those items already picked.
  • My orders filters. The Market's My orders tab has All, Sell and Buy chips with counts, a search by item, station or category, eight sorts, and a Filters menu for where, status (including expiring soon) and category. Your choices are remembered on each device.
  • Contract history. My contracts is now History, with Created by me and Contracted to me tabs. A row opens a window with every item and its value, the price, the place, the dates and the other party. Available contracts show their top items, unit count, volume and value before you accept.
  • Auto-jettison. Mark items to drop on their own: keep at most a number and drop the rest as it arrives, or drop them when the hold is full. Only marked items ever go, into a cache like a manual jettison, and one switch turns it all off.
  • Share Tactical presets. Share a Tactical preset in chat. Other pilots see a chip that previews its filters, with Save to my presets.
  • Add friend on the pilot card. The pilot card now has an Add friend button.
  • Clan rename. A clan leader can rename the clan and its tag once, free, within 7 days of founding, to fix a typo.
  • Cipher Cases open from anywhere. You no longer need to dock at home to open a Cipher Case: Open uses up your nearest case wherever it is, and every drop notice has an Open button. The first step of a hunt always fits the case's lowest skill level, with a short how-to line.
  • Hunting task sizes. A ? tip on the task card's title shows the master's task size range with and without Long Contracts.
  • Full screen on phones. The game keeps its layout when your phone turns or the browser leaves full screen, and a Full screen button appears for a few seconds to go back in with one tap. On iPhone Safari, the menu's Full screen entry shows how to add the game to your home screen.
  • Faster first undock. The first undock after loading is much faster on many Windows PCs.

Fixes

  • Fighters stay with their carrier. At Bounty Sites, wings on guard or assist could chase targets far across the system and not come back. Fighters now pick targets only within their leash and fly home when they pass it.
  • Bodkin Lance fires. Bodkin Lance wings launched without ammunition for their guns and dealt no damage. Every craft now launches with its guns loaded.
  • Hangar search. The clear button in the Hangar search no longer covers the match count.
  • Settings across tabs. With several pilots open in tabs of one browser, a tab could save an older copy of your settings, so the next load brought back old settings and downloaded the game data again. Tabs now follow each other's changes.
  • Password reset. You can now reset your password even if your email was never verified, and finishing the reset verifies it. The reset form accepts your callsign, email or pilot name.
  • Mining HUD. While you mine automatically, the battery readout no longer shifts the gauges, the mining card's header stays steady between rocks, and the Tactical list no longer jumps when a rock is mined out.
  • Short warps. A warp to a ship, a wreck or at a chosen distance could hop as little as 1 km. Every warp now covers at least 20 km.

Balance

  • Cipher Case drops. Cipher Cases drop about half as often in combat: 1 in 64 from pirates, 1 in 20 from elites, 1 in 24 from captains, 1 in 10 from Rifts and Strongholds, and 20% from world bosses. Skilling finds a Battered case about every 7 to 8 hours and a Sealed case about every 40 to 48 hours. The skill checks on a Battered hunt now range from level 1 to 10 instead of 1 to 20, so new pilots can finish them.
